Mr Maguire's Education Blog
One thing I was taught at an early age is not to take people or things for granted. In particular, my mom drilled into me that “an education is something that can’t be lost or stolen and will benefit me in more ways than I could count.” Of course each of you knows this which is why you have made many sacrifices to ensure that your son/daughter attends Edison High School.
This past weekend we had 23 students and six guests attend the Jesuit prom. Fun was had by one and all by all accounts. This is just one of many benefits the students receive being on this campus. Last night I attended a retirement celebration of my good friend and mentor, Sandy Satterberg, who has been the Jesuit principal for the past 15 years and worked on this campus for the past 32 years. How do I tie these two paragraphs together? If you have time and interest, I might suggest you drop Sandy and/or John Gladstone a short letter of thanks (or congratulations) for not only allowing us to be on their campus but promoting us in a myriad of ways. Jesuit’s support helps the overall education of your child. We will never take that for granted!
