Enrichment

Print | E-mail

Teens with learning differences are still teens, and having fun is an important part of their high school experience. Thomas A. Edison offers opportunities for social interaction through Advocacy groups, Student Council, counseling groups, peer helpers group, community service, field trips and excursions. Other enrichment/social activities include student workshops, school service projects, Students of Faith and service learning projects.

Because we are located on the Jesuit High School campus, Edison students are welcome to attend all Jesuit High School dances, plays and sporting events. Our students may participate in Jesuit's music and drama programs (following the proper processes), and a wide variety of Jesuit clubs are available to join.

Thomas A. Edison students may also participate in Jesuit sports. We especially encourage our students to try cross-country, football, swimming and track because these sports have a no-cut policy. All Jesuit coaches strive to make their specific sport a positive experience, regardless of the student's abilities.

Located in Portland, Oregon, Thomas A. Edison is a private high school dedicated to meeting the special education needs of Learning Disabled (LD) teens. Our students’ learning differences include Dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, Asperger’s Syndrome, Tourette’s Syndrome, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, Visual Perception and Nonverbal Learning Disorders.
