Admission Process
Applications for the 2012-13 school year will be accepted starting September 15, 2011. Early decision applications are due no later than 3pm on January 23, 2012.
Applying for admission to Thomas A. Edison High School is a two-step process:
- Download and complete the
admissions packet. The packet includes placement information from the student's current Math and English teachers, as well as a school counselor, which is a mandatory part of the application.Once the completed application and $50 application fee arrive in our office, the Admissions Committee reviews the application.
- After reviewing the applications, the Admissions Committee invites potential students who fit our school's profile for an all-day visit to Edison. These visits will begin as early as October 2011.
Both of these steps must be completed before a student can be considered for admission. The final deadline for admission applications is 3:00 p.m. on April 2, 2012. Financial aid applications must also be received by this date.
All admission applications received by January 23, 2012 will receive full consideration. The director of the school will notify the family of the school's decision (yes/no/waiting list) during the week of March 19-23, 2012. Applications received after January 23rd and before the final deadline of April 2, 2012 will receive a decision during the week of May 7-11, 2012. Financial aid award notification will be made to families beginning in May 2012.
Please note: Applications for admission that arrive after January 23, 2012 may not receive full consideration for admittance, and financial aid may be limited. Families applying for financial aid after the deadline of April 2, 2012 will not be eligible to receive financial aid for the 2012-13 school year.
