Thomas Edison High School empowers students with learning differences to experience academic success and personal growth, while preparing them for the future.
Founded in 1973 as the Tree of Learning. Thomas A. Edison High School is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges, and meets the State of Oregon requirements for private schools.
I believe for the first time private schools are receiving special recognition. Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski has proclaimed February 4, 2010 as Oregon Private Schools Appreciation Day. Assistant Headmaster Mark Siegel, who also serves as the Executive Director of the Oregon Federation of Independent Schools, worked with the Governor's Office to obtain this proclamation. "Oregon provides a friendly climate for those families who want to be able to choose from a wide variety of educational options for their children," Siegel said. "We thank the Governor for once again recognizing the good work of Oregon's private school community in meeting the needs of the families it serves." I think it’s exciting that private schools are getting their day in the sun or rain as the case may be. I want to thank each of our families for choosing Thomas A. Edison High School and making us your “educational option” for your child. As I hope you’ve learned, we take that responsibility seriously. Please enjoy our day on Thursday!
